Dear Prep Family,
Greetings from Wyoming Avenue!
I write to you today with a joyful heart as I begin my tenure as the President of Scranton Prep.
For the past 76 years, Scranton Prep has partnered with families in Northeastern Pennsylvania to form young people into women and men whose lives give glory to God. As I begin in this role, I join a team of passionate educators and dedicated staff. The mission of Jesuit Education is alive and well in Scranton, and I am humbled and grateful to be part of that mission once again.
Prep has played a significant role in my life as a Jesuit and a priest; my time here from 2011-2014 confirmed in me a desire to be ordained to the priesthood and to spend my life working in Jesuit High Schools.
My return to the Lackawanna Valley is, in many ways, like coming home for me. And yet, my new role invites me to get to know the Prep Family in a new way that is exciting and energizing.
I look forward to meeting many of you in the months ahead. For now, please know of my daily prayers for you and your families. I ask you to please keep me in yours!
Warmly,
Fr. A.J. Rizzo, S.J.
President
