Model UN Club Supports Catherine McAuley Center Through Donation and Service

Last Saturday, the Model UN Club donated $1,300 worth of toiletries, personal hygiene items, feminine hygiene products, and diverse skin and hair products to the Catherine McAuley Center. This generous donation was made possible through the financial support of Perry Rose ’77.

The initiative was further supported by the United Nations Association of NEPA, and provided students with the opportunity to engage with several of the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals, including Good Health and Well-being, Gender Equality, Reduced Inequalities, and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institution.

In addition to delivering the donated items, students gave three hours of service, assisting with sorting and organizing books, clothing, and other supplies. They also had the opportunity to learn from Ann Williams and Mary-Pat Ward about the center and the services it provides to the community. Mr. Rose was also in attendance, alongside representatives from the United Nations Association of NEPA.

Service opportunities like these offer students the chance to give back to the community and deepen their understanding of global issues through hands-on experiences.
