Service and Reflection in Belize

Several students, alongside Mr. Placke, Ms. Lopez, and Ms. Millon, spent part of July in Belize, working on service projects and immersing themselves in the local culture.

During their visit, they worked with members of the St. Peter Claver Parish to paint and tidy up a small school in the remote village of Blue Creek. The school serves as an important pillar of the community, and the work done by our students was greatly appreciated.

In addition to their service efforts, students immersed themselves in the local community, learning about the Belizean customs, traditions, and values.

Students also had the opportunity to visit the Ancient Mayan Ruins at the Lubaantun Archaeological Reserve, where they learned about the rich culture and history of the Central American nation.

Together, these experiences provided students a meaningful opportunity to answer the call to service while reflecting on the diverse cultures and ways of life they encountered throughout their time in Belize.
