College Counseling
Born for Higher Things
At Scranton Prep, the college process is not a checklist, it’s a journey. No two students walk the same path, and that’s exactly how it should be. Our counselors believe it’s not about where you go, but where you belong!
At Prep, the college journey is about more than getting in. It’s about finding the right fit.

Our college counselors guide students toward the next chapter.

Juniors meet with counselors through a Junior Seminar Course and on an individual basis to learn about all aspects of the college admissions process, including building college lists, planning visits, reviewing testing, understanding financial aid and scholarships opportunities, developing personal statements and College Essays, and creating a personal resume.
They attend key events like the College Fair and visit college campuses on Prep Sponsored trips. Over the summer, they focus on essays, finalize testing, pursue activities, and refine applications at the College Application Workshop.

Seniors work through the application process in a Senior Seminar Course which encompasses college application reviews, transcript review, college interview preparation, finalizing a well-balanced college application list using College Kickstart, and assisting with the Financial Aid and Scholarship application process. It's our hope that the students will get to know themselves better, know that they're capable of more than they think they are, know that they have the tools to become the person they want to become.
