
Scholarship Entrance Exam
The Prep Test
The required Scholarship Entrance Exam helps gauge a student’s aptitude and preparedness for the rigor of Scranton Preparatory School. The Exam consists of the High School Placement Test (HSPT), five subtests in Vocabulary, Quantitative, Reading, Math, and Language, plus an optional essay required for scholarship consideration. Monthly makeup exams are offered.
Entrance Exam Overview
Scranton Prep administers the High School Placement Test as the eighth-grade Scholarship Entrance Exam. The following is a breakdown of the exam subtests:
Verbal Subtest: 60 question
Quantitative Subtest: 52 questions
Reading Subtest: 62 questions
Mathematics Subtest: 64 questions
Language Subtest: 60 questions

Students who score in the top 35 on the Scholarship Entrance Exam will be awarded merit scholarships.
Top Ten Scores - $4,000 per year
Top 11-20 Scores - $2,000 per year
Top 21-35 Scores - $1,000 per year
