Founded in 2022, the Scranton Prep Athletics Hall of Fame was the kick-off event of the newly created Prep Athletic Club. The PAC was organized to bring sports alumni, parents, families, and friends closer to Scranton Prep, honoring the traditions of competition and excellence for which our school is known, in the sport, the classroom, and the community. For the inaugural Hall of Fame induction, we thought it was important this first Hall of Fame class celebrated and enshrined the eight state championship teams in the history of Scranton Prep Athletics. Moving forward, in addition to continuing to recognize the great teams in Scranton Prep history, we would like to begin recognizing the remarkable athletic achievements by Prep alumni and coaches who have provided a conspicuous source of pride for the Prep Family for so many years.

- No fewer than six (6) and no more than 10 nominees will be selected for an induction class. Special attention will be paid to the composition and balance within each class.

- The maximum number of inductees per-category is:

- The CoSAR will maintain a document containing detailed information about each nominee, which will be shared with the Selection Committee at least one (1) week prior to the first induction meeting. Nominations should be diligently reviewed and considered prior to the first meeting.
- There will be two (2) preliminary selection meetings in which the Selection Committee will discuss proposed nominees, narrowing down preliminary lists into a group of finalists which will be voted upon in a third and final meeting.
- For the preliminary meetings, each Committee member should select a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of six (6) nominees for each category. From there, the committee will shape the list for the final vote based upon agreement of mutual recommendations and then considerations of those who did not receive unanimous or majority support.
- In the preliminary meetings, Committee members may submit in absentia nominations to the CoSAR should they be unable to attend the meeting either in person or via teleconference.
- All Selection Committee members must be present, either in-person or via teleconference, for the final selection meeting.
- For the final meeting, each Committee member should submit ONLY their final votes, rather than a pool of nominees from which to choose.
- To be elected to the Hall of Fame, a nominee must receive at least six (6) votes.
- The Committee should choose an alternate inductee for each category in the event of a potential inductee declining induction.
- Any person affiliated with Scranton Prep (as outlined in the Nominations section) may propose an amendment to the Hall of Fame bylaws for deliberation by the Selection Committee and a vote. Proposed amendments must receive a minimum of six (6) affirmative votes to proceed to the final stage, which is approval from the School’s Senior Leadership Team.
- Approved amendments must be communicated through an announcement on the School website and in the next edition of the Alumni newsletter.
- Nominations may be made online on the Athletics Hall of Fame section of the Scranton Prep website.
- Any person affiliated with Scranton Prep, namely alumni and parents (past and present), coaches (current, past, and retired), and faculty (current, former, and retired) may make a nomination.
- There is no limit to the number of nominations an individual may make during an induction cycle, but an individual may not make the same nomination multiple times within one induction cycle. A nominee that is not chosen in the current induction class may be re-nominated during the following induction cycle.
- Nominations are valid for five (5) induction cycles (10 years). If a nominee has not been inducted within that time frame, the nomination will expire.
- The Coordinator of Sports Alumni Relations will maintain a current database of all nominations, including the most recent nomination year for each nominee and a record of the individual(s) who made each nomination. The CoSAR will inform the Selection Committee of any expiring nominations, and the Alumni Director will contact each nominator of an expiring nomination to inform them of the upcoming expiration and to present the opportunity for a re-nomination.
- Nominations that do not meet the nomination criteria (stated below) will be discarded. The Alumni Director will contact the nominator to inform them why their nomination is not being accepted.
- All those who submit a nomination should be thanked for their nomination by the CoSAR and Alumni Director.
- Recognizing any superior athletic or sports-related accomplishment(s) by a Prep Alumnus/Alumna or past/present administration, faculty, or staff in terms of service to sport.
