Sophomore Gary Snyder was chosen to play the Beast. “This is my first show at Scranton Prep,” Gary said. “I was nervous about going out for a part at first, but now I’m happy I did. The people are welcoming and make me feel like I belong here.” Gary has performed in musicals since age 7. “It’s something I’ve stuck with for a long time,” he said. “I also have been playing piano for over 11 years. It is one of my favorite things to do. I have played at Carnegie Hall twice.” Break-a-leg, Gary!
Senior Lauren Repella received the lead role of Belle in Prep’s spring musical “Beauty and the Beast.” “I have been involved in the Prep Players for four years now, and each show has brought incredible people and experiences into my life,” Lauren said. “Our community helps me to be the truest version of myself while encouraging others to be theirs.” Lauren has performed in musicals since she was 6 years old, and she has learned to balance her theatrical interest with other activities, including basketball cheerleading and various school clubs.
After high school, she plans on studying interdisciplinary sciences in college while also pursuing her passion of theater.

Scranton Prep Players were thrilled to bring their performance into your homes! That’s right, their fall performance of “Puffs” was streamed. A comedic retelling of the Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling, the play is told from the perspective of the “Puffs,” aka the not-quite-so-cool kids at the magical school. A streaming link will be available below for future viewing.
